GameFAQs Hell was the very first GameFAQs spinoff ever, coded first in ASP and later PHP by Chuck "Neo" Sakoda in 2001. It was frequented mainly by disgruntled CE users and various banned or even KoSed users; among them TerranRedneck, Narcoleptic Monkey, BigRedMachine, DeGenerate, and LOL ANIME FANBOYS. At its zenith, it received a moderate amount of traffic and attention for its lax rules and was even linked from the GameFAQs message boards' FAQ. It was closed in early 2002 for several reasons, chief among them being Neo's disinterest in its continued administration. Neo made its source code publically available and this source was used to build numerous copycat board systems and provides the basis for many greatly updated spinoff sources still used today.
