Relaxation

From WikiFAQs
Jump to: navigation, search

When moderations were disputed and found to be too harsh, a moderator or administrator had the ability to relax the moderation. In most cases, this resulted in a warning becoming a notification, or a notification becoming an NKL. In either case, the user has the difference in karma between the original action and the relaxed action restored to him or her.

However, as of November 9th, 2005, when the dispute system was upgraded, users could no longer dispute on the grounds that moderations were too harsh. As a part of this upgrade, the ability to relax moderations was taken away altogether. Disputed moderations could either be upheld or overturned, with or without reposting the moderated message.
