Social Topics are general topics used solely for socialization. They are considered Off-Topic on game boards, thus are generally found on split social, social, dead, secret, and level boards.

Random Insanity has a form of structured Social Topics, which are a continuing series and have a written introduction. The introduction will generally consist of a few rules, mostly involving the naming of the next topic, and a list of admins, who are allowed to make future editions (continuations after the topic reaches 500). The names will generally follow the format of "Topic name - edition number - edition name - Edition", with a few exceptions.

Pikadeth's Playhouse no longer includes the edition number in the topic title.

10:20 GameFAQs time, and the Trampoline (no longer running) included their name somewhere in a phrase for the title. (10:20 GameFAQs time is learning to build!, or Trampoline of Memories) 10:20 GameFAQs time places a question as the intro, in the form of "Do you know where your _____ is/are?" 10:20 GameFAQs time also breaks the pattern by starting a new topic every night at 10:20 GameFAQs (Pacific) time.

Ys3 is a bad man changes the topic name as well as the edition name

JZ's Lab is RPing (Role Playing) social topic created by Jedi Zero.

Most visitors to the social topics will visit more than one, and most of RI will not post in them at all. Some people dislike the idea in general.
