SSK is a private board on GameFAQs. It is owned by Kaas, and its co-admins are Xboxlover2 and MastaGus. It was one of ten original private boards given away on April Fools 2004. It was originally titled The Upper Room and owned by super magus; this was later changed to funny. After super magus's account was hacked in April 2009, several moderators were made admins, but with no official owner. In June 2010, SBAllen gave ownership of the board to Kaas, who later renamed it SSK.
The Upper Room
The Upper Room's intent was to be a place where Christians could discuss deeper issues of Christianity that would be impossible on other GameFAQs boards due to trolls. This purpose made it unique among the private boards, because it was the only one that was not a social board.
For the most part, the Upper Room succeeded in having serious religious discussion with a minimum of disruption or fighting. However, eventually, due to constant bickering between the boards members super magus announced that The Upper Room would be shut down on the 15th, with the entire userbase being booted and the board being deleted if possible. In the topic, magus stated that the board had become "an embarrassment to Christianity". On July 27th, 2006, the board name was changed to "funny" and the userbase was purged.
super magus Hacking
On April 6th, 2009, super magus' account was cracked into. The person in the account posted a topic on Current Events, and almost everyone who posted in the topic was invited, and 60 admins were promoted. As a result, the board went out of control, with people mass inviting and kicking users. On April 7th, 2009, SBAllen removed the admins and left only seven remaining; 5 mods and 2 other members that are the owners of other private boards. super magus's account was closed on June 6, 2009, but he remained in contact with SBAllen and Kaas to determine the fate of the board.
On June 24th, 2010, Kaas became the new owner of funny. On July 19, 2010, the board name was changed to SSK.
